Howard Hodgkin (1932-2017) Nasceu em Londres. Estudou na Camberwell School of Art e Bath Academy of Art. Durante a Segunda Guerra viveu nos Estados Unidos. Pintor abstrato que representa em seu trabalho memórias de sua vida. Pinta a moldura incorporando-a ao trabalho. Esteve na Bienal de Veneza, ganhou o Turner Prize de 1985. Retrospectivas no MoMA, Nova York e na Tate Gallery, Londres. Recebeu da Rainha Elizabeth II o título de Sir. É representado pela Gagosian Gallery.
