Gary Hume

Gary Hume (1962-) Nasceu em Kent. Graduou-se na Goldsmith's College e pertenceu ao grupo Young British School. Participou da histórica exposição Freeze. Após sua primeira exposição, atingiu rapidamente reputação internacional. Foi indicado para o Turner Prize e foi vencedor do Jerwood Painting Prize. Participou das Bienais de Veneza e São Paulo. É membro da Royal Academy of Arts, Londres. Tem obras nos mais importantes museus do mundo. Sua pintura se caracteriza pelo reduzido número de figuras ou formas com áreas planas de cor. Usa vernizes brilhantes e como suporte prefere o alumínio ou o MDF. Vive e trabalha em Londres e Nova York. É representado pela White Cube, Londres.
