Helen Lundeberg



Helen Ludeberg (1908-1999) Uma das mais admiradas pintoras de Los Angeles. Nasceu em Chicago. Em 1912, mudou-se com a família para Passadena, Califórnia. Estudou arte no Styckney Memorial School, Passadena. Casou-se com seu professor e artista Lorser Feebetelson e com ele foram co-fundadores do movimento New Classicismo. Lundenberg inicou sua carreira com trabalhos figurativos e retratos, percorreu a Abstração Geométrica , o Surrealismo e o Abstracionismo. O escrito e crítico Michael Duncan assim falou sobre sua pintura: "Lunderberg reduces the visual field to essential, simplified forms, while relying more on a conventional notions of picture plane as a window onto the world..."  A artista é pouco conhecida no circuito internacional em consequência a sua atuação quase exclusiva em Los Angeles. Tornou-se quase uma artista local apesar de sua obra de reconhecido valor.
